MHM Team at 2026 AIA ETN Design Awards
It was an exciting night for MHM at the 2026 AIA East Tennessee Design Awards Gala held October 1, 2026. Our firm brought home five design awards across four projects, while two team members were also recognized for their contributions to the profession.
The evening celebrated design excellence across East Tennessee and the people, partnerships, and ideas that bring meaningful projects to life. MHM is proud to congratulate the teams behind this year’s recognized projects:
This year's award-winning projects include:
Honor Award: 612 S. Gay Street
The renovation and expansion of the historic 612 S. Gay Street building received an Honor Award, the highest level of project recognition presented during the evening. The project gives new life to a historic downtown Knoxville building while creating expanded opportunities for the Tennessee Theatre and the community it serves.Merit Award: 625 N. Broadway
MHM’s new headquarters at 625 N. Broadway received a Merit Award. Through the adaptive reuse of Knoxville’s century-old Sanitary Laundry Building, the project preserves an important piece of the city’s history while transforming it into a collaborative, forward-looking workplace for our team.Citation Award + Community Impact Award: Aspire Park
Aspire Park received both a Citation Award and Community Impact Award. Located along the Clinch River, the 180-acre regional destination transforms a former coal-ash site through architecture and landscape into a place for recreation, connection, environmental stewardship, and community.Citation Award: Model Home
Model Home received a Citation Award, adding another project to MHM’s recognized work at this year’s gala.
The evening also recognized two members of the MHM team. Georgia Morris received an AIA East Tennessee Presidential Citation in recognition of her contributions to the organization and profession, while Gray Taylor was celebrated as a newly licensed architect.
Five project awards across four projects is an accomplishment we’re incredibly proud to share, but none of this work happens alone. We are grateful to our clients for their trust and vision, our consultants and collaborators for their expertise and partnership, and the MHM teams for their creativity, dedication, and collaboration, which made each project possible.
Congratulations to all of this year’s AIA East Tennessee Design Awards recipients and honorees!
