PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
Mercury Park Phase 1 represents the first phase of redevelopment on the Mercury property under the Mercury Park Master Plan. Located on approximately 4.32 acres at the corner of Minor Street and S. Bilbro Avenue, the project marks a major step in transforming the Mercury neighborhood into a thoughtfully designed residential community.
Phase 1 included the demolition of existing units along Burns Court and Minor Street and the construction of 34 new residential units totaling approximately 42,340 square feet. The development consists of 14 two-bedroom single-family homes and 20 three-bedroom duplex units (10 duplex buildings), arranged across 24 residential structures.
Designed in alignment with the approved Mercury Park Master Plan Pattern Book, the architecture reinforces a cohesive neighborhood identity while providing high-quality, attainable housing. Varied rooflines, front porches, and pedestrian-oriented streetscapes create a strong sense of place and encourage community interaction.
In addition to the residential buildings, Phase 1 included comprehensive site improvements such as landscaping, sidewalks, parking, and exterior enhancements that prioritize walkability and connectivity. The project establishes a thoughtful transition from the scale of Mercury Boulevard to the surrounding residential fabric.
Phase 2 is currently in construction administration and will continue advancing the long-term vision established in the Mercury Park Master Plan.
