PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
The Webb School of Knoxville Upper School Achievement Center is focused on innovation in learning and features an immersive learning visualization lab with an 18' x 6' wall touch screen. Adjacent spaces in the new research and innovation center provide opportunities for augmented and virtual reality studies as well as collaborative workspaces. The library's primary focus is on digital media and innovation, while stacks have moved to a quiet zone elsewhere in the building.

This new innovative achievement center addition is strategically placed at the center of the upper school building as a convenient resource for the students. The entry to the center is prominently located in a popular student commons/gathering area. The commons features ample collaborative spaces and a new Starbucks-like cafe serving bar.

As Webb strives to meet their mission of "re-imagining an extraordinary education," extensive research was completed by the design team to guide the school in inventive learning spaces and curriculum shifts.
