What can a parking space become with a little creativity? At Knoxville's 2026 PARK(ing) Day, MHM teamed up with Legacy Parks Foundation, Hickory Construction, and Allen Sign Company to transform an ordinary downtown parking space into an interactive preview of the future SoKno Rail Trail & Art Walk, earning the People's Choice Award!

Held September 18 and organized by YES! Knoxville, PARK(ing) Day brought local organizations and design teams together to reimagine parking spaces as temporary parks, art installations, and gathering places. The annual event encourages conversations about how shared urban spaces can better serve our communities.

Our team's installation offered visitors a glimpse of upcoming public art along the SoKno Rail Trail, celebrating the connection between art, nature, and outdoor recreation. The display highlighted the potential of creative placemaking to enhance public spaces and encourage community engagement.
