Due to Goody’s continued growth, both its offices and distribution center were expanded in 1994. The 74,600-square-foot office addition more than doubled the size of the original office building.
The three-story addition is linked to the barrel-vaulted entry lobby by a two-story connector which features niches for product displays. To accommodate raised access flooring for a computer center without ramping, part of the ground level of the addition was recessed.
Goody’s headquarters complex presents a contemporary image for this successful clothing retailer. A sweeping circle drive leads to the main entry, which is marked by a dramatic barrel-vaulted skylight. An adjacent auditorium, which is used for business presentations and training seminars, features a curved exterior corridor with a glass-block facade.
