MHM developed this plan through a consensus building process achieved through design workshops, interviews, and community forums. This process identified a need for improved access and approach, reduced vehicular conflicts with pedestrians, development of a pedestrian friendly “main street”, arts district, new dining, recreation, housing, improved outdoor gathering spaces, and to preserve the natural environment.
MHM’s goal was to not only identify the current and future needs of the campus, but to also capture these requirements in a plan which was both practical and implemental, within the client’s resources. Phase I was completed in the summer of 2004.
