McCarty Holsaple McCarty has completed the design of a new Performing Arts Center in Maryville, Tennessee. The focus of the center is the 1200 seat proscenium theatre which will provide outstanding acoustics and technical state of the art support for theatrical and musical performances.

It will also have a highly versatile flexible theatre which will showcase innovative productions as well as add additional rehearsal and classroom space.

Surrounding these theatres will be support space for both theatres including dressing rooms, practice areas, and faculty offices.

A second building in the center will have additional classrooms and a 250 recital hall providing a more intimate performance space for the college and local productions alike. It will also contain an unique pipe organ salvaged and restored from an out-of-date Fine Arts Center which use to occupy the site.

A partnership project between Maryville College and the surrounding communities, the center will serve as a premier showcase for the region’s fine and performing arts while attracting an exciting array of the nation’s highest caliber traveling shows and exhibits. Grand opening will be in January 2010.
