When the historic Fayerweather Hall on the campus of Maryville College burned, MHM and the College immediately set to work to plan the structure’s rebuilding.

The new 3-story building recalls the historical character of the original building, a brick structure that was constructed at the turn of the century. The College also decided to move some of Fayerweather Hall’s existing functions to the recently completed Bartlett Hall Student Center in coordination with MHM’s master plan for the campus. This freed up space in the new Fayerweather Hall building to allow for additional classrooms.

In addition to the classrooms, the new Fayerweather Hall provides space for the President and Treasurer’s offices, admissions offices, financial aid offices, and the Registrar’s office. The facility also includes a tiered lecture hall designed to meet the needs for current communications and data technology.

The building has a sloped roof with a brick and pre-cast concrete exterior. The building incorporates similar detailed design elements such as ornate trim work at the eave and an arched entry porch that were part of the original building. The new Fayerweather Hall also contains a second floor balcony similar to one that existed in the original building.
